Looking for delicate botanical-inspired earrings that are sleek and modern, but still sinuous and organic? These little dangles will add a touch of edgy style to your look without raising any eyebrows in the office. Above, the Vine Earrings, Fir Cone Earrings, and Tendril Earrings, from from my modern botanical-inspired Mechanical Garden jewelry collection.
Above, the Short Fuchsia Earrings — smallest and most delicate of this group. Perfect for travel, for work or for fun — these lightweight, easy neutral earrings go with everything!
Above, the Laburnum Earrings: great for a modern, edgy black tie outfit that’s not at all stuffy — think hip benefit gala or cool modern wedding. But they pair well with a simple summer maxi dress, too — wear them to that summer concert under the stars or vacation date on the lanai!
Above, the Scarab Earrings — wear them with jeans to dress up a D&D night or geeky conference look, or go all out for that women in tech keynote or STEAM benefit dinner!
Above, the Lotus Earrings — I love these with a simple dress when I’m wondering what to wear to a friend’s modern wedding. They’re a great confidence touchstone for an interview outfit or first day on your new creative dream job, too!
More new photos from my modern botanical-inspired Mechanical Garden jewelry collection while this gorgeous orchid is visiting my studio workspace! Above, the Ivy Earrings, Short Wisteria Earrings, and Long Wisteria Earrings are airy chandelier earrings with a delicate, intricate, edgy feel. Think of them as metal lace, or modern chainmail; their abstract modern style somehow fits perfectly with lush Art Deco and Art Nouveau designs — can’t you just see Phryne Fisher in these?
Above, the Ivy Earrings — smallest and most delicate of this group. Wear these anywhere; they go with everything!
Here’s your peek behind the scenes in my studio: the alternate background I considered while photographing these… I love love love the textures, but in the end, I decided this had a little too much going on. Maybe next time!

Just here for the orchids? Here you go. (I love them too!)
I couldn’t resist taking some new photos from my modern botanical-inspired Mechanical Garden jewelry collection while this gorgeous orchid is visiting my studio workspace! Above, the Trellis Earrings, Rose Window Earrings, and Garland Earrings are all edgy, modern statement earrings with a spiky floral feel that reminds me of succulents, cacti, and orchids — if you love Alexander McQueen and Iris van Herpen, these pieces are for you. But they’re all a little different — here’s how to choose between them.
Above, the Trellis Earrings are shorter dangles that look great with short haircuts like sleek bobs and razor pixie cuts, and any kind of updo. They make a statement, sure — but they’re easy to wear to the office to spice up that classic look. I love these for day to night looks where you want your personal style to shine through everything.
The big, classic circles of the Rose Window Earrings tone down their spiky edge, so you can treat them like statement hoop earrings. Wear them with a maxi dress for a summer barbecue or evening beach walk — black, if you need a great summer Goth look. (They’re modern chainmail, after all!) These are my go-to earrings for travel, since they look great with jeans or an evening outfit, they’re easy to wear with everything, and no one notices how many times I’ve worn that black cardigan when they’re busy staring at my earrings. And they’re great with longer hair, just like classic hoops.
The Garland Earrings are the longest of the three styles — great for mid-length hair, but also amazing as swinging modern chandelier earrings with a French twist or updo. I love them for evening looks — I’ve worn them to benefit galas and weddings (they’d be amazing for a modern non-traditional bride, too!) But I also love them at conference dinners and other events where I want to look great and be memorable.
